Firefox Extensions - TwitterFox
An irregular series discussing extensions to the Firefox browser
Firefox is a Web browser - a competitor, if you like, to Microsoft's Internet Explorer. One of the great things about Firefox (and there are many) is that it has a very extensible design. This means that third-party developers can "plug-in" additional functionality to the browser to make using it more valuable. Every so often, I'll blog on interesting add-ons.
One such plug-in, or "extension" in Firefox-speak, is TwitterFox. Twitterfox, as the name suggests, is an extension for the Twitter social media site. It is implemented as an icon that sits in the bottom right of the Firefox window and will pop-up when someone you are following "tweets" (if you don't know what a "tweet" is, you haven't entered the world of social media - take a look here for an intro to Twitter).
There are other social media sites out there - LinkedIn and Facebook are up there with Twitter for people focused on business connections. If you're into Twitter, then TwitterFox makes following your contacts a breeze.
